Top MOD expert joins Arup Security Consulting

Arup Security Consulting, ‘Security Consultant of the Year 2002’ is further expanding its diverse team of security experts with the appointment of Major General Christopher Elliott as a security strategist.

Major General Elliott, formerly a Director General in the Ministry of Defence working with both the UN and NATO, will provide expert advice on terrorist threats and on the design of counter terrorist measures, in addition to carrying out vulnerability surveys of existing buildings and sites to assess their resilience to potential terrorist attacks.

John Haddon, Director of Arup Security Consulting says, “We are delighted with the addition of Christopher to the team. His varied military experience coupled with roles such as advisor to Carl Bildt, EU Negotiator for the Balkans and High Representative in Bosnia, will allow him to help our clients plan for their future security.

“It is important when putting together a security plan, to be able to look at the client’s needs from every possible angle. Christopher’s background in the military adds a new dimension and perspective to the group that will serve both our clients and our team.”

In addition to his military experience, Major General Elliott also has a distinguished academic background in security and building design.
